What is Phantom Limb Pain?

Phantom Limb Pain is the perception of pain or discomfort in a limb that is no longer there. 
Phantom Limb Pain affects approximately 80% of people within the first year after undergoing an amputation. 

What is the TITAN trial?

TITAN is a government-funded randomised clinical trial testing two non-drug treatments aimed at reducing Phantom Limb Pain and its interference with day-to-day function.

The TITAN trial will be delivered remotely, via Telehealth, allowing Australia-wide recruitment of 208 participants. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups:

A Progressive Rehabilitation Program A Stimulation Device Program
    • Graded Motor Imagery
    • Pain Science Education
    • Modified Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation 
    • Cranial Electrical Stimulation
